This device is not too big, in my own opinion i’d say its a normal size. Some might say the Amazon fire stick is not as big as this, Yes, that is very correct but this device actually embodied a few more features which i think was the reason for its size, this device has a USB port which means you can connect your phone or your flash drives with it, and watch movies away and even manage your files. This device has an HDMI port which means the device connects to your television through the HDMI port which gives you a perfect HIGH DEFINITION pictures which is why it is High Clarity 4k HDR. Unlike the the Amazon fire stick, this device is independent which means it has a charger and can be plugged in the socket but the Amazon fire stick connects to the TV through the USB.
THE BACKVIEW OF THE XIAOMI Mi Box:
The design of the Xiaomi MI Box is so beautiful, like i said earlier it is handy and really durable, while you hold this device, you feel the worth in its weight, it is not fragile and you can bet if it mistakenly hit the ground, the only stress would be for you bend your back and pick up your device from the ground and continue to enjoy it.
THE FULL UNBOXING OF THE XIAOMI Mi Box:
After the unboxing, the following were the things i found in the pack, as you can see in the unboxing picture above. You have the charger, the HDMI cord, the beautiful remote control, the device itself. Well after a few days i found out that in the pack there is also batteries for the remote lol. I am going to say if you pick this device then you do not need any other thing again for your television.
THE BEAUTIFUL AND SIMPLE REMOTE CONTROL:
The Xiaomi Box remote control is beautifully designed with plastic, its not overcrowded with too many buttons which makes it easier for use, with the few buttons i know my grandmother would easily watch Netflix without the help of anyone lol. The remote control makes toggling easy. By clicking on the Netflix button it takes you there directly without having to go through selecting it out of many media apps. The first button at the top of the remote is the new feature google added to their devices and Xioami also incorporated it into this device, it means with that button you can speak to your device. How sweet is that ? Yes with google search you can tell your Box to do anything, just make sure you say it in a recognizable language lol (ENGLISH). The O button is the home button and the arrow pointing backwards is obviously the back button.
BUILT-IN CHROMECAST VIEW:
With the built in chromecast, your device gives you pleasant view of several beautiful images while its idle. You’ll see basically how beautiful the world is.
THE PRE-INSTALLED APPS AND THE INSTALLED APPS:
As seen in the picture, their are a few installed apps and and the pre-installed apps like Netflix, Youtube, e.t.c. Well, i have a few good news to tell you. The Xiaomi Mi Box has the capacity and enough storage to install third party applications, Yes! you heard me, if you were following this review critically from the beginning, i mentioned that it has an external USB port for your alternative drives such as flash drive, which means you can easily connect it to the box and install apps provided it has been downloaded on the drive you inserted to the USB port. Here is another good thing about the Box, you can manage your files easily which means for having the capability to install third party apps, you will definitely be able to install a file manager application on the device and then manage your files with it, you can listen to music, watch downloaded videos, and of course view your photo gallery, with that being said, it means that this device is truly independent as such that when you have no subscription on the premium media apps such Netflix, Hulu, Starz and the rest, the device is not going to be useless. You can still watch downloaded movies with it, listen to musics and of course view your photo gallery. I’ve had this particular gadget for a couple of months and i have been able to do quite a lot of things on it which gives me the confident to say that the XIaomi Mi Box stands out.
